Who can apply for SCC 2026?

Accepted Answer

SCC 2026 is open to cybersecurity students from ITEs, Polytechnics, Junior Colleges and Universities in Singapore, as well as Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs).

What matters most is genuine passion for the field. We look for students who are curious, willing to get hands-on, and keen to learn alongside peers from across the local cybersecurity scene.

Do I need prior cybersecurity experience?

Accepted Answer

You do not need to be an expert, but you should have some hands-on grounding — either studying a relevant course, or practical familiarity with CTFs and security tooling.

The trainings move quickly and are built around doing rather than watching, so a working comfort with the command line, networking basics and a Linux environment will help you get far more out of the week.

I’m not enrolled in a cybersecurity course. Can I still apply?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Plenty of strong candidates come from adjacent courses — computer science, IT, engineering — or are self-taught through CTFs, home labs and personal projects.

We care about demonstrated hands-on interest rather than the name of your diploma or degree. Use your application to show us what you have actually built, broken or competed in.

How do I apply, and when do applications close?

Applications are submitted through our online form. The deadline has been extended to 23rd August 2026 — if you had the earlier 10 August date in mind, you have more time.

Places are limited, so we encourage you to apply well before the deadline rather than on the last day.

How are participants selected?

Accepted Answer

We are taking a cohort of roughly 25–30 students, so places are competitive.

As part of the application you will complete a short technical test. It is not designed to filter out beginners — it helps us gauge the range of experience across applicants so trainers can pitch each session at the right level for the group that actually turns up.

What happens after I submit my application?

Once applications close on 23rd August 2026, the organising team reviews every submission together with the technical test.

Outcomes are sent to the email address on your application, so use one you check regularly and keep an eye on your spam folder. Successful applicants will also receive joining details and any software to set up beforehand.

How much does it cost to attend?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. SCC 2026 is free for selected participants — the camp is fully sponsored, and meals across the five days are provided.

You will only need to cover your own transport to and from the venue.

Where is the camp held?

SCC 2026 runs at the i3 Building, 21 Heng Mui Keng Terrace, NUS Enterprise, Singapore 119613, from 7 to 11 September 2026.

Question 9

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Bring your own laptop. It should be capable of running virtual machines, with at least 16 GB of RAM and a typical cybersecurity working setup — you will want administrator rights so you can install and run tooling freely.

If a specific training needs particular tools or a prepared VM image, we will let selected participants know in advance so you arrive ready to start.

Do I need to attend all five days?

Yes. The trainings build on one another and the team project runs across the full week, so participants are expected to attend all five days from the opening ceremony on 7 September to the closing ceremony on 11 September.

Participants who complete the camp receive a certificate of completion.

What does a typical day look like?

Accepted Answer

Days start at 09:00 with a hands-on training session, break for lunch around 13:00, then continue with a second training in the afternoon.

After dinner, evenings are given over to team project work — with one evening set aside for a networking night with trainers and industry practitioners. The final afternoon is project presentations, followed by the closing ceremony.

What will I actually learn?

Seven specialised, practitioner-led trainings across the five days: Applied OT Security, Introduction to Threat Modelling, Mobile App & API Pentesting, AI Fluency for Cybersecurity Practitioners, Binary Exploitation, YARA Rule Creation for Blue Teamers, and Proactive Engagement with Live Threat Actor Infrastructure.

Every session is hands-on and taught by working professionals — you will spend far more time in a terminal than in slides.

What is the team project?

Alongside the trainings, you will work in a small group across all five days on a real problem statement, presenting your work to the cohort on the final afternoon.

It is where the week comes together — and where most of the collaboration and friendships that define SCC actually happen.

Who organises SCC?

Accepted Answer

SCC is organised by Division Zero (Div0), a volunteer-driven cybersecurity community in Singapore. The first camp ran in 2025 and 2026 is our second year.

The camp is modelled after the Global Cybersecurity Camp (GCC), with the same emphasis on immersive, hands-on learning and building a lasting community of practitioners.
